Healthcare and health insurance in the Netherlands can be different from what you are used to in your home country. Which rules apply to you depends on your nationality, residence status and whether you work alongside your studies.

On this page you can find information about healthcare, health insurance and the rules that apply to students from the EU/EEA and Switzerland, as well as students from outside the EU/EEA. This will help you understand what you need to arrange before and during your stay in the Netherlands.

Young people from other EEA countries can study here on basically the same terms as students from the Netherlands. You pay the low, statutory tuition fee (unlike students from outside Europe). You will also be entitled to study financing if you have a part-time job in addition to your studies.
