Erasmus+: beurs voor studie of stage in het buitenland

Wil je stage lopen of studeren in het buitenland? Met het Europese programma Erasmus+ kun je een beurs krijgen. Dit programma stimuleert studenten om internationale ervaring op te doen.

Heb je een functiebeperking of extra ondersteuningsbehoefte? Dan kun je vaak extra subsidie krijgen. Denk aan ondersteuning voor:

  • aangepaste huisvesting
  • medische begeleiding
  • hulpmiddelen of apparatuur
  • aangepast lesmateriaal
  • een begeleider.

Tijdens je mbo-opleiding kun je met Erasmus+ maximaal 12 maanden naar het buitenland. Je moet in die periode wonen en werken of leren in het buitenland.

  • Vaak is de minimale periode 2 weken
  • Soms kan het ook korter. Dit is afhankelijk van je opleiding.

Heb je je diploma al gehaald?
Dan kun je tot 12 maanden na je afstuderen nog met Erasmus+ naar het buitenland voor een stage.

Vraag bij je opleiding welke regels precies gelden.

Ook in het hbo en wo kun je met Erasmus+ naar het buitenland voor studie of stage.

  • Je kunt per opleidingsniveau tot 12 maanden gebruikmaken van Erasmus+
  • Dit mag je verdelen over meerdere periodes (bijvoorbeeld studie én stage).

Heb je een ondersteuningsbehoefte? Dan kun je extra financiering aanvragen voor de ondersteuning die jij nodig hebt.

Heb je je diploma al gehaald?
Dan kun je tot 12 maanden na je afstuderen nog met Erasmus+ naar het buitenland voor een stage.

Erasmus+ grant for special needs

If you are an Erasmus+ student with a disability, you can apply for an extra grant to pay for special needs. The website inclusivemobility.eu provides more information about this grant.

Applying for an extra Erasmus+ grant:

  • Ask the Erasmus coordinator at your university about the application procedure in your home country (application deadline, where to obtain and submit your application form, etc.)
  • Fill in the form describing your disability/special need(s) and additional requirements. Make a detailed cost estimate of the extra financial support you will need for these requirements.
  • Include a statement from an official authority/institution attesting your disability and its degree of severity, its impact on your mobility and an estimate of the additional costs for your participation in the Erasmus programme.
  • Hand in your application at your home university or to the National Agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme in your country (this depends on the country-specific procedure).
  • Your university or National Agency will assess your application and decide whether or not you should receive extra funding.
  • If you are entitled to an additional grant, you must sign a grant agreement that clarifies your rights and obligations.
  • Once you have completed your course or placement period, you must report the exact amount of additional expenses, along with evidence (invoices). Your grant agreement will contain specific rules concerning this report.

There are no structural Dutch or European funds to support non-Erasmus students. Nevertheless, to find out about the options you could:

  • contact your university’s international office, the Dutch embassy or the local authority in your county, province or country to see whether they have grants to support you or information on organisations that may do;
  • visit https://www.studyinholland.nl/finances to learn more about available grants.

De hoogte van de beurs verschilt per student. Dit hangt bijvoorbeeld af van:

  • het land waar je naartoe gaat
  • de duur van je verblijf
  • je opleiding.

Studenten met een functiebeperking of minder financiële mogelijkheden kunnen vaak extra geld krijgen.

Je vraagt de beurs Erasmus+ aan via je eigen opleiding. Check altijd:

  • Doet mijn onderwijsinstelling mee aan Erasmus+?
  • Wanneer moet ik de beurs aanvragen?
  • Wat moet ik aanleveren?
  • Hoeveel geld kan ik ongeveer krijgen?

Je kunt hiervoor terecht bij je:

  • international office
  • studiebegeleider
  • bpv-coördinator (mbo)

Begin op tijd met je voorbereiding. Zeker als je extra ondersteuning nodig hebt, kost de aanvraag vaak meer tijd. Je opleiding kan je hierbij helpen, zodat jij goed voorbereid naar het buitenland kunt.
